Who We Are — And Why This Page Exists
We’re Cafe Siam—not a café with chairs and cups, but a warm kitchen on the internet filled with Thai recipes, memories, and stories that feel real. Everything began with Nicha, a home cook far from Bangkok, who missed meals that felt like hugs. She cooked, then wrote, then cooked more. Now, you’re here. Maybe for recipes. Maybe for answers. Either way, this page exists to be clear—about links, gifts, and how this site keeps going.
What We Mean By "Content"
Nothing here appears from nowhere. Each recipe simmers to life through trial, taste, and late-night curiosity. Some ideas come from family notebooks, while others emerge from spontaneous cravings. Still, all of them get tested in our kitchen.
We shoot food as we eat it—no fake props or gloss. If a noodle curl looks messy, that’s part of the charm. After all, flavor comes first, not perfection. Guest posts reflect our voice, follow our standards, and pass through honest hands before they reach you.
How This Site Makes Money
Cafe Siam thrives on passion. However, garlic, rice, and server bills cost money. To sustain this space, the site sometimes earns income. The content stays free—no subscriptions, no locked recipes. Behind the scenes, revenue comes from:
- Affiliate links
- Sponsored content
- Product reviews
- Display advertising
- Brand collaborations
Let’s break those down clearly.
Affiliate Links
Clicking a product link and making a purchase may earn us a small commission. That’s affiliate marketing. We only share products we’ve used or genuinely trust. No junk. No filler lists.
We mark affiliate links in each article or within a clear disclosure note. These links often lead to Amazon, but sometimes to smaller retailers. The system tracks clicks, not identities. We currently participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. If we join other programs, we’ll let you know.
Sponsored Content
From time to time, brands contact us with a proposal to feature their product. If we accept, the piece must still reflect our voice. We label sponsored posts at the top so there’s no confusion.
Although compensation plays a role, it never silences honesty. If something shines, we explain why. If it fails, we’ll say so. Brands never control what we write. The story stays ours.
Gifts, Samples, PR Packages
Occasionally, companies send sauces, tools, or cookbooks. Some get tested and mentioned. Others don’t make the cut. Gifts never guarantee praise. When we feature something, it’s tagged as "gifted." If we purchased it, we say so.
We value usefulness, not packaging.
Display Ads
You may notice ads placed between recipes or after images. Ad networks manage those placements. We don’t control which ads appear.
Sometimes ads reflect your interests. Other times, they don’t. If they seem irrelevant, simply scroll past. These ads help cover operating costs, so for now, they stay.
Product Reviews
Testing, comparing, and assessing products takes time. We don’t stop after the first try. Reviews emerge after repeated use.
If a brand asks for a review, we disclose it. If we buy the item, we’ll state that too. We write our own opinions—always.
Email Newsletters
Our newsletters include recipes, thoughts, and helpful product suggestions. If any email includes an affiliate link, we’ll note it. We don’t spam or sell your data. You can unsubscribe whenever it suits you.
Social Media
Across platforms like Instagram and Pinterest, the same rules apply. Sponsored content is labeled. Gifts are disclosed. Affiliate links include tags. We carry our values into every channel.
Recipe Testing and Accuracy
We test each recipe before sharing. Still, your results may vary. Ingredient brands differ. Pan thickness affects cooking. What works in our kitchen might need tweaks in yours.
We welcome feedback. If something feels off, let us know. Your input helps us improve.
Guest Posts, Contributors, and Collaborations
Sometimes, others contribute. Before publishing, we revise each post for tone, clarity, and truth. Guest content with affiliate links or brand relationships is marked. If another person helps with visuals or design, we credit them.
Mistakes and Regrets
We make mistakes—everyone does. Typos, broken links, or off ratios happen. When we spot them, we fix them quickly. If a product we once praised loses quality, we update our review.
Loyalty lies with our readers, not brands. When something better shows up, we share that.
Staying Honest
We reject most offers. When a proposal feels off-brand or insincere, we turn it down. Payment doesn’t influence our opinion.
Our Promise
Things evolve. We might test new tools or income ideas. When we do, this page reflects those changes. We revisit this content regularly to keep it honest.
