Ingredients

  • 10 pieces Dried red chilies
  • 5 cloves Garlic peeled
  • 1 cup Shallots sliced
  • 1 cup Palm sugar grated
  • 1 cup Tamarind paste
  • 1 cup Fish sauce
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil

Instructions 

  1. 1. Soak the dried red chilies in hot water for 10 minutes until they soften. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2. In a blender, combine the soaked chilies, garlic, and shallots. Blend until smooth.
  3. 3. Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the chili mixture and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. 4. Add the palm sugar, tamarind paste, and fish sauce. Cook for another 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens.
  5. 5. Let the chili jam cool before transferring it to a jar. Store in the refrigerator.
